UpliNk
UpliNk began in 1996 in Cincinnati Ohio as a series of collaborations between devin and ted, who working well together decided to give it a name start playing shows. exploring ideas such as extra planetary intelligences, ancient & advanced technologies, paranormal happenings, the occult, conspiracies, mind control, mind expansion, alternate realities and futurism, the duo created music and played live together for the next few years. around 2000 they parted ways and devin continued on with the moniker. although initially it was unsure if the name should still be used, there had by that point developed an expanding symbolism around it and personal connection that had not yet run its course.
at that time UpliNk became an almost entirely underground operation, only occasionally making live appearances or distributing material, and becoming heavily involved with exploring and incorporating musical technologies such as circuit bending and synth diy.
in 2003 UpliNk transplanted to San Francisco and since then has seen more public activity with several live performances and online releases.
recent projects include: song submission for 2008 Bent Minneapolis ‘listening party’ hosted by Tiger Claw Records, song for the upcoming Circuitry Compilation, a collaboration project for Tiger Claw Records, a release on Future Komp and work on an upcoming cd.
