this site was created to host the artwork, music, electronics projects and shifting obessions of Devin S Walsh.
primarily this will consist of posts detailing circuit bending and synth diy creations, information about my musical project UpliNk, dj sets, images of my paintings & drawings, updates on things i find interesting and whatever else i feel like.

i was first inspired to work with sound by my friend chris around 1988 in a small town in ohio. by 91 we were playing in a band together and had set up a modest home studio consisting of a 4-track recorder, a couple of record players, some effects units and a boss drum machine. i began recording and experimenting with electronic music and in around 94 or 95 i became interested in dance music and djs. I got a drum machine, moved to Cincinnati, got together with some friends and setup a new studio with our shared equipment. it was in this setting in 1996 that i started recording and playing live as UpliNk.

Later in 2000 my friend ian stops by one day and shows me 2 circuit bent speak & spells. i was totally fascinated! he then showed me the website www.anti-theory.com and Qhazala’s amazing creations. the circuit bending how-to greatly inspired me, unlocking a long held desire to modify musical equipment. i set out at once to give it a try and through this simple exploration of electronics a whole new world of musical creation opened up for me.

i have also always enjoyed painting and drawing since i was very young and have been more or less active over the years. my paintings are generally acrylic on wood or canvas, which are quite often found objects.
